Rolex Cellini Moonphase 50535-0002 18K Everose gold - Men's watch
Rolex Cellini Moonphase 50535-0002 Men’s Watch in 18K Everose Gold The Cellini collection was first introduced in 1968 under the leadership of René-Paul Jeanneret and André Heiniger — the two men who took over Rolex after founder Hans Wilsdorf passed away in 1960. The collection was conceived as a dedicated home for dress watches crafted in gold and platinum, while also marking a deliberate shift: a Rolex confident enough in its legacy of versatile watches (Oyster, Submariner, and others) to formally assert its expertise in the creation of true dress watches. In 2014, the Cellini line was refreshed, unified under a round case design language and a precious-metals-only direction. Then, at Baselworld 2017 — still regarded at the time as the high altar of the watch industry — the brand unveiled the Cellini Moonphase. This move caught almost everyone by surprise: the moonphase complication returned to Rolex’s catalogue after nearly seven decades of absence since the 1950s. The message was clear: this was Rolex positioning itself within the conversation of haute horlogerie. In 2023, the Cellini line was officially discontinued, bringing a 55-year chapter to a close. Every 50535 still present on the market today remains a remarkable fragment of Rolex history.
