In fact, Lange had virtually no modern heritage in automatic watchmaking after 1945. This created both a challenge and an opportunity: the need to develop an entirely new automatic calibre that could combine high complication with exceptional finishing. That vision materialized in 2001 with the launch of the Langematik Perpetual, featuring Lange’s signature outsized date.
